Protecting Your Identity
It’s important to us to maintain the anonymity of your identity. The project is designed to collect honest attitudes about race, and we think that can only be done if people are not afraid of reprisals for their comments. There is no need to identify yourself in your recording. Avoid using other people’s names or making references to specific details that could be used to identify you. The email field in the embedded recorder is optional, and we suggest you leave it blank. If you want to contact us, you can use the designated contact form.
Sharing Your Story
We will be sharing your story. Count on it. Your story will likely become part of a structured sociological study, and we may decide to share your story on our website or on any other medium that we use for the purposes of this project. It may be reference in published articles or in a book. We plan on giving the press unrestricted access to the content we share for the purposes of fostering a constructive discussion about race. We may paraphrase your story. Conversely, we reserve the right not to use your story as part of our project. By sharing your story, you relinquish claim to copyright to the story.
